Moving Day

Today was moving day. Back in August when I was making reservations to attend the Roadtrek rally, I could not get a site for all 4 days we wanted to be here. In addition, all of the sites available (like four out of 100) for Wed and Thurs were length limited to 20 feet (and we are 24’ plus bike rack). So I called the Ranger about reserving a 20’ site, and his answer was that they were limited for a reason. He did not say we couldn’t reserve a short site, and he did not say we could. So after reviewing Google satellite, various campground photos of the sites and reading various reviews, we took a chance. We figured the limiting factor was navigating amongst the trees, which the State of Florida seems to respect like an endangered species. Upon arrival, we scoped the entire site, especially the site we had for Wed and Thurs. It was narrow, and we were sure we could fit. Thank goodness we are a Class B and not a wider RV. Also backing a 20’ trailer into this site would have been quite the challenge, especially if the tow vehicle was a Super Cab pickup. As it was, we swung in as easy as backing into our driveway at home and easier than backing in at home if the Toyota is also in the driveway.
