Southeast Area Rally (Family Motor Coach Association)
We made it to the Southeast Area Rally (Family Motor Coach
Association) on Sunday. The registration info said early arrival was available
starting Sunday, but no power or security. Having figured out dry camping, we
showed up Sunday afternoon. And they parked us inside the event area, and we
had power. Next to a hanger. For awhile. Big thunderstorm (literal, not the
storm in Minneapolis with Eagles and Patriots) started just before dinner time,
and the breaker tripped, leaving us without power from the plug in. No worries,
lots of battery capacity. The big issue Sunday night was that right at kickoff,
we lost the NBC channel on the digital TV. Fortunately, we had a backup plan
using the NBC Sports app on the iPad. Not quite HD, but we got to watch the big
game.
Since the
rally did not start until Wednesday, we went and played golf at Sanlan Golf and
RV Resort. We enjoyed walking 18 holes of golf - although neither of us played
as well as we would have liked. When we got back to the Sun ‘N Fun Expo Center
(rally location), we found they had moved us. Still pretty much by ourselves.
Very quiet, and actually closer to the showers.
