Smokemont campground, Great Smoky Mountain National Park

After a great breakfast of breakfast biscuits, we said farewell to the other Roadtrekers, and headed for the Golf Club at Mill Creek near Franklin, NC for some overdue golf. Played early enough there wasn’t anyone pushing or slowing us down. Darrell started off 4 strokes down by the second hole, but hung in there to have the honor of treating Kris to Starbucks afterwards.

Then on to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, where we got a camp site at Smokemont campground. As the campground is a first-come, first-served campground, we were fortunate to get a place. Pretty basic - no hookups, no WiFi, no cell service. But inexpensive. Met two other Roadtrekers in the campground.

Did part of the loop trail along the river.
