Patuxent River Naval Air Station

After four days of traveling every day, Sprinty gets to stay in the same campground for 3 nights in a row. Not a record, but more than usual for a non-rally trip. Pretty basic campground - bath house is located at the end of the road, porta-potties in each of 5 loops, not crowded, sites are in shade (not so great for solar, but great for the warm, sunny weather), sites well-spaced, and gets rather noisy during the day as we are near the end of a runway on the base at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. About 7am this morning, we heard what sounded like gun shots. It was compressed air canons used to scare away birds so they don’t meet an untimely demise getting sucked into jet engines. At a minimum, makes a bit of a mess of an engine, can result in loss of an aircraft (big $$$). Fortunately, they do not seem to have aircraft operations at night.
